Inventory and labeling of materials

The labeling and coding of products within a warehouse represent a critical process that enhances the efficiency of inventory location and control. Upon the arrival of merchandise at the warehouse each item is assigned a label featuring a unique code. This label encompasses essential information including the type of item, the quantity within the lot its designated location and additional pertinent details. Labels can be categorized into several types:

1.Content labels:

These labels facilitate the identification of packages without necessitating their opening. Typically, they include a barcode, a description of the merchandise and the quantity of units within the lot among other details.

2.Product handling labels:

These labels may be classified as mandatory or optional. They provide critical information regarding the hazardous nature of the product, its intended use or consumption as well as instructions for proper handling and storage.

3.Information labels:

These labels deliver specific directives for the handling of the product such as requirements for maintaining an upright position or refrigeration among others.
